Elisabeth Timms-1730Elisabeth made her gorgeous sampler in England. She stitched the Ten Commandments in rhyming verse form and this is contained in two tablets. Across the top, we have clouds and a woodland scene containing trees, deer, a squirrel and a bird. The large carnation is worked in queen
stitch. The tablets are flanked on either side by vines of flowers and the bottom of the sampler has a beautiful delft blue vase with various flowers.
This sampler is worked in cross-stitch, queen stitch, and either tent stitch or cross over one thread depending on wether the sampler is worked on 40 count or 35 count linen.
