THE 1819 SAMPLER

THE 1819 SAMPLERThis charming sampler is most likely of Scandinavian origin, judging by the groups of three initials. The stitcher probably lived on a farm as she stitched a great many chickens into her sampler, as well as birds, animals and bird tracks. Stitches used are cross, satin, four sided,
Algerian eye, French knot and some free hand embroidery.
