AB-1655This is a wonderful small English band sampler. It contains two lovely double running bands with some trellis filling stitch, two bands worked in montenegrin and two alphabets worked in double running stitch. There are also spots and little bands with small repeating patterns worked in
double running stitch. The small double running stitch bands above and below the large bands are an English aesthetic of Italian origin. Only three colors of floss were used in this sampler. From the Textile Museum in St. Gallen, accession no. 20148.
