Sophia Alexander-1800Sophia was born on the 2nd off July in 1786 in Banff, Scotland and she was christened on the 9th of July. Her parents Alexander Alexander (AA) and mother Elisabeth Boath (BB)were married on the 9th of June in 1776. Sophia was fourteen years old when she completed her sampler.

Her sampler is worked in pretty shades of pinks and greens using cross-stitch, eyelet, satin, stem, chain, double running and freehand stitches. The basket contains gold spangles. The basket with flowers at the bottom will be stitched last and you will be provided with a full sized diagram which you will trace onto the sampler following the directions for placement.

Size: On 40 ct (16 thr/cm) linen it measures14.24" x 19.5"(36.5cm x 50cm)
Thread Count: On 35 ct (14 thr/cm) linen it measures 16.75" x 22.5" (43cm x 57cm)
