JANE McMUTTRRE (c. 1820)Jane stitched her sampler at the Millar School in Scotland. Like so many Scottish samplers, it is worked mainly in reds and greens and contains part of an alphabet which is outlined with curlicues. The large trees and little dogs are worked in the manner often found on these samplers. Jane's sampler is in a private collection.
Worked in cross stitch, cross stitch over one thread and double running. Original sampler shown in
photo.
