LOHIZO MARIA GARCIA (1841)
Lohizo's sampler is like so many other Spanish samplers in that all four
sides are worked with two or three different band patterns as well as her
name around the centre square. The centre contains a large pot of
flowers, birds, chairs, baskets and lions. She was instructed by Maria
Paradinas. This sampler is from the Textile Museum in St. Gallen,
Switzerland, accession no. TM20108. Stitches used are cross stitch, long
armed cross, satin and florentine.
